LMGAA Reunion

 ‘ Reconnect – Relive – Recreate’

A special assembly was held, followed by a guided tour around the campus by trained escorts. Ex students from the batches of 1950s to 90s were awestruck to see the numerous changes all around and shared their school memories excitedly.

Several retired teachers of the College were present when Mrs. F. Keelor (Ex Lady Principal) was presented with a plaque from the alumni which said :“Thank You for creating our future”.

The reminiscing continued over tea in the principal’s lawn and a special lunch in the boarders’ dining room, recreating the atmosphere of students eating in the hostel in yester years.

The excitement was palpable even in the evening with a welcome programme by the students. A powerpoint presentation made everyone take a trip down the memory lane. There were exciting quizzes and fun games.  The surprise element of the evening was a huge clock gifted to the school to bring back memories of a favourite punishment especially for the boarders of “Standing under the clock”! ‘Bumcakes’ that were especially made on order were given to all.

Continuing their nostalgia, the alumni of both the Colleges attended the chapel service at La Martiniere  College , which was followed by a special assembly conducted by the Principal. Mr. C. McFarland. After a tour of the 'Constantia' all were excited to attend the fete organized at LMGC. After this, they proceeded to honour stalwart teachers of the College - Ms. Gresseux, Mrs. Ida Cooke, Mrs. Maclure among others who are buried at the Nishatganj cemetery.

The glory of the older school days was relived at a fun filled social evening at La Martiniere College, which was followed by a sumptuous dinner at Sykes Hall.

Basketball Match: Past and the Present

The Reunion Weekend came to an end with the felicitation of retired staff and emotional good byes. Elaine Rati Kochar Tarang Gupta along with two other old girls rendered a beautiful song in praise of the teachers which was much appreciated. This was the first of the many reunions that La Martiniere GirlsAlumni Association hopes to organise in future.
