  1.  Mrs F Abraham, Principal La Martiniere Girls College, Lucknow has been conferred by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination the prestigious Derozio Award 2014 at a glittering ceremony at Delhi. Mrs Abraham has been working in the field of education for the past 34 years and has been an exceptional and dynamic leader who has been an inspiration for many. The Derozio Awards - In order to promote the best educational practices in school education, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination  has instituted the annual “The Derozio Awards for Education and Human Enrichment” to celebrate and commemorate the life of H.L.V. Derozio – a great advocate of educational reform, so that his life may inspire a new generation of education to emulate his life and work, in the service of the nation.
                 Through this award, CISCE hopes many may be inspired to emulate his life and work, in the service of the nation.  Mrs Abraham is far sighted and believes that children learn best by doing and lays stress on activity based education.  She has been responsible for a number of educational, social and cultural initiatives that have benefitted her students and the community at large, greatly.

  2. Leading career magazine Education World has recently published its list of best Indian schools for the year 2014.Titled 'EW India School Rankings 2014', the annual list comprises the country's best schools ranked under ten different categories -- day co-education, day-cum-boarding, day girls and day boys, boarding co-education, boys and girls, international day, day-cum-boarding and wholly residential.For the survey, 913 schools were nominated from 25 different cities -- Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Jamshedpur, Darjeeling, Shillong, Kochi, Jammu, Kanpur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Dehradun. La Martiniere Girls' College, Lucknow secured the 9th rank in the list.

  3. Vanshika Minocha class IIIrd C secured 1st position in below 80 kg weight category District Judo Championship held on 22nd March, 2014. In the state invitational Judo championship held from 22nd March to 24th March, 2014 at K.D.Singh Babu Stadium. She secured IIIrd position in below 30 kg weight category.

  4. Kulsoom Rizvi of class V D, has won the prestigious IGNITE 2013 Award with her innovation "A Posture Correcting Chair". In IGNITE 2013, a total of 44 students were awarded for their ideas /innovatons on 19th February at IIM Ahmedabad where Dr Kalam gave away the awards. NIF will file patents in all applicable cases in the name of the students and will also engage designers/fabricators to develop prototypes of the students' ideas.
    POSTURE CORRECTING CHAIR: A chair which corrects the user's posture.The chair would have sensors at appropriate places, which will alert the user if he sits in the wrong posture.This chair will allow you to sit properly on it.
  5. Two of our students have been awarded a scholarship for higher education (SHE) under Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Scheme (INSPIRE) . 

    This is by virtue of their performance within top 1% of the School Board at Class XII level in the examination held during the academic session ending March/April 2013 ( as per the criteria specified by the Department of Science &Technology, Ministry of Science &Technology, Government of India).

6. Jusfica Lobo of class VIII came 1st in the under 15 girls category of the UP Chess Sports Association.

7. Prabhleen Bhatia of class IX was declared as the youngest winne rin the Yuva Paryavaran leader contest held at the national level in Ajmer in 2014. She championed the idea of no polythene for a cleaner environment.

8. Vaishnavi Singh of Class XII participated in the 30th UP State taekwondo championship and in the 16th MUYE national taekwondo championship where she won a bronze and silver medal respectively.

9. Chahat Malhotra of 7B stood 1st in the Classical Music Competition at City level and state level which was organized by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. ITIHAAS’ – Indian Traditions and Heritage Society –an educational trust, pioneering Heritage Education, organized Anveshan 2014, ‘In Verse’. The children had to write the lyrics of a song, put it to music and then sing it. The song ‘Brahmaputra’ which sung, written and composed by some of our class VIII students was performed in Delhi. Out of the 300 teams from all over the country, 75 were shortlisted for the final round and our song won, the competition and Brahmaputra was declared 'Song of the Year.'

10. Lakshita Srivastava of class VII represented the UP team in the Junior Naional Aquatic Championship held at Indore.
